Rosmalen is a railway station located in the town of Rosmalen. It is one of three railway stations in the municipality of 's-Hertogenbosch, Noord-Brabant, the Netherlands. The railway station was opened at the Tilburg–Nijmegen railway in 1881. It was closed again in 1938. In 1981 the railway station was reopened again, but this time on another location.

History

1881 - 1938
The station was opened in 1881. The old station building of Rosmalen (with station dwelling) from 1880 still exists, but is currently used as a residential and office building. It is located on Stationsstraat and Spoorstraat. In December 1920 there was a train accident at this station. Three people were killed in this train accident.

There were also stopping places at Sprokkelbosch and Kruisstraat. In the landscape, however, there is nothing to remind you of that. Where the Sprokkelbosch bus stop was probably the Peelhoeven is now. The house that also served as a guardhouse for the level crosses, and until the end of the seventies as (one of the last manually operated) signal post, was demolished in the 1980s.

From 1881 to 1938, the old building served as a station building. In 1938 the station was closed for passenger transport. The station building then had a function as a guardhouse for the operation of signals and level crossings, and the loading dock was still used for freight transport until 1972.

1981 - present
The current station was opened in 1981 and is located on Stationsplein. It is an example of a 'suburb stop' by the architect Hans Bak. In the meantime, the station no longer has a counter function, but ticket sales are made via the four ticket machines. A Kiosk XL is located in the old counter building.

On the occasion of the opening of the station, people were free to go to the circus on Gildeplein in 1981 if they made a train journey to 's-Hertogenbosch or Oss station.
