A T-Rex is located at the McDonald's at the northwest corner of Tanque Verde and Grant Rd. Although the roadsideamerican link states there are two dinosaurs, there is currently only one.
Text on plaque:
Tyrannosaurus
(Tie-RAN-oh-saw-rus) "tyrant lizard"
(adult size)
The Tyrannosaurus is the largest carnosaur, or predatory dinosaur, yet discovered, and it is certainly the most notorious. It reached lengths of 49 ft (15 m), and may have weighed up to 7 tons. It roamed throughout North America during the Late Cretaceous Period, hunting the Hadrosaurs and other large plant-eaters that shared its range. The Tyrannosaurus' forearms were so small as to seem completely useless, but it was in all other aspects a well equipped hunter. Its powerful legs could propel it after its prey, possibly as fast as 20 miles an hour for short distances. Its three toes had 8 inch (20 cm) talons for slashing, and its huge head had extremely powerful jaws with 6 in (15 cm) long, serrated teeth for biting and tearing.
