The marker for the final resting place of fictional character Walter White, from the TV show Breaking Bad, has been moved from Sunset Memorial Park to a shopping center in Los Ranchos del Albuquerque.

A headstone for "Breaking Bad's" Walter White is no longer at an Albuquerque cemetery.

A mock funeral for White was held Saturday at Sunset Memorial Park. The funeral was done to raise money for Albuquerque Health Care for the Homeless. But families who have loved ones buried at the cemetery said they were shocked something like that would be done there.

Manuel Montano, whose son is buried at the cemetery, created a petition to have the headstone removed.

"Seeing people having a good time and taking pictures when people go there mourning their family members, it's just a horrible idea," said Montano.

Michael Baird, owner of Vernon's Steakhouse and one of those who helped organize the fundraiser, released this statement:

“It was never our intention to disrespect those who are buried at Sunset Memorial Park or cause pain to their families. We created the Walter White Funeral and Final Amends as a way to have a positive impact on the community and help those who are negatively impacted by the terrible effects of drug addiction and homelessness. We greatly apologize to anyone who was offended, and want to ensure that the focus remains on the amazing work that Albuquerque Healthcare for the Homeless does in our community. I contacted Mr. Montano earlier today to apologize and to let him know of our intention to relocate the headstone and burial vault.”

Baird said the headstone was moved to the Village Shops in Los Ranchos, which is where he said it will stay.
