Don Adams, known to many as top agent Maxwell Smart on the Get Smart TV show, is laid to rest at Hollywood Forever Cemetery. His final resting place is at the northeast side of the pond, at the northeast side of the cemetery. A plaque on a stand marks the location, and has the following text:

April 13th, 1923 (Department of the Navy, US Marine Corps) Sept. 25th, 2005.

Beloved husband, father and grandfather. Proudly served his country during WWII in the United States Marine Corps.

Comedian, poet, philosopher, movie buff and never late for post time. A tough but sensitive man with a sentimental heart and a passionate soul.

He touched our hearts as Maxwell Smart, secret agent 86 in the 1960's classic TV series, "Get Smart" and filled the world with laughter that will forever be remembered.

In his five decades on television, he was best known as Maxwell Smart (Agent 86) in the television situation comedy Get Smart (1965–70, 1995), which he also sometimes directed and wrote. Adams won three consecutive Emmy Awards for his performance in the series (1967–69). Adams also provided the voices for the animated series Tennessee Tuxedo and His Tales (1963–66) and Inspector Gadget (1983–86) as well as several revivals and spinoffs of the latter in the 1990s. Adams was married three times: to Adelaide Efantis, Dorothy Bracken, and Judy Luciano. His brother Richard Paul Yarmy, also known as Dick Yarmy (February 14, 1932 – May 5, 1992), was an actor. His sister Gloria Yarmy Burton was a writer. He had seven children: Carolyn, Christine, Cathy, Cecily, Stacey, Sean, and Beige. His daughter Cecily died of lung cancer in 2004 and his son Sean died in 2006 at age 35 of a brain tumor, a year after Don Adams's death. An avid gambler, according to his longtime friend Bill Dana, Adams "could be very devoted to his family if you reminded him about it, [but] Don's whole life was focused around gambling."
