" A l'origine du Couvent Sainte-Claire de Dinan, on trouve une chapelle dédiée à Sainte-Catherine et érigée à parir de l'année 1458. En 1480, le projet de transformer la chapelle en un couvent de Clarisses est approuvé par le Duc François II.
Les travaux débutent en 1482, mais des difficultés financières ne permettent pas la construction d'un couvent neuf. C'est ainsi que la chapelle Sainte-Catherine est aménagée pour devenir la nouvelle église du couvent, cette dernière est d'ailleurs consacrée en 1484.
A son apogée, l'enclos du monastère atteindra 0.85 hectares. Lors de leur expulsion, le 3 octobre 1792, 35 religieuses occupaient le couvent. Le bâtiment est d'abord transformé en caserne, puis en prison avant d'être vendu comme bien national en 1796 et démantelé. "
