The cenotaph was later amended to include men who died in WWII. It is in the form of a Cenotaph surmounted by a carving of a sphinx. It also has carvings of Lancashire rose at top corners of each side of shaft of cenotaph and reliefs of badge of Lancashire Fusiliers at top centre.
The memorial has an inscription part of which is a list of countries that the regiment fought in. Immediately underneath the Sphinx is the word Egypt.
