Zubr (European bison) - Prerov, Czech Republic - Figurative Public Sculpture on Waymarking.com

Prerov is a city on the Becva River in the Olomouc Region of the Czech Republic. Both in its coat-of-the-arms and its flag a head of an European bison, called here "ZUBR", can be found. During the reconstruction of Tyrsuv bridge over Becva river in 2012, a bronze sculpture of the city' heraldic animal was placed on the bridge. Its author is Ivana Šrámkova (see (visit link) She created a bronze statue of a bison of weight more than 1 ton. Its height is 2.2 meteres and the lenght of 3.5 meters. The statue is placed on a concrete pedestal of about 2 meters height.
