The building of red brick was constructed in 1937-1938 for Dr Harry and Una Masel. Rooms for Dr Masel's general practice, including waiting area, consulting and x-ray rooms and a laboratory, together with the family living areas occupied the ground floor and the upper storey housed the bedrooms and bathroom. In 1948 Dr Masel moved to Brisbane and sold the house to Laurence Diamond , hence the name
