EN: The Gibidum (also Gebidum) is a mountain in the Valais. Its peak is 2317 meters above sea level northeast of Visperterminen.
At the summit there is a simple wooden cross of about eight meters height. A hiking trail passes right next to the cross. A little north of the summit is a broadcasting facility that transmits various radio and television programs into the valley.
Although the mountain is not one of the very high in the region, it offers a great panorama and a beautiful view of the Rhone valley to Brig, Naters and the surrounding communities.
DE: Der Gibidum (auch Gebidum) ist ein Berg im Wallis. Sein Gipfel liegt auf 2317 Meter über Meer noröstlich von Visperterminen.
Auf dem Gipfel steht ein rund acht Meter hohes, einfaches Holzkreuz, an dem ein Wanderweg vorbei führt. Etwas nördlich des Gipfels befindet sich eine Sendeanlage, die verschiedene Radio- und Fernsehprogramme ins Tal weiterleitet.
Obwohl der Berg keiner der ganz hohen der Region ist, bietet sich hier ein grossartiges Panorama und ein schöner Ausblick ins Rhonetal nach Brig, Naters und den umliegenden Gemeinden.
