The park at the northern entrance to Laurieton is called the Laurie [Memorial] Park, and commemorates 'Mac' Laurie.

This may be more commonly known as "Laurie" Memorial Park, from the multitude of War Memorials within it. [Including two generations of 'Laurie' soldiers.] This plaque is for the more recent 'Laurie', who served in the RAAF in World War Two, and for whom the Memorial Park is named after. The commemorative bronze plaque is on the south face of a cream brick pillar (that has 'shoulders' on it) with a pink marble pyramid on top at the northern end of the grassy park. The inscription reads:
