Selon Wikipedia, "Maria Teresa Goretti (16 octobre 1890 - 6 juillet 1902) est une vierge-martyre italienne de l'Église catholique, et l'un des plus jeunes saints à être canonisé. Elle est née dans une famille d'agriculteurs. Son père est décédé quand elle avait neuf ans et la famillea dû partager une maison avec une autre famille, les Serenellis. Maria a repris les tâches ménagères pendant que sa mère, ses frères et sa sœur travaillaient dans les champs.
Un après-midi, le fils de vingt ans des Serenellis, lui a fait des avances sexuelles. Quand elle a refusé de se soumettre à lui, il l'a poignardée quatorze fois. Elle a été emmenée à l'hôpital mais elle est décédée en lui pardonnant. Elle a été béatifiée en 1947 et canonisée en 1950. Elle est particulièrement vénérée dans la Congrégation de la Passion (Passionistes) ".

According to Wikipedia, "Maria Teresa Goretti (October 16, 1890 – July 6, 1902) is an Italian virgin-martyr of the Catholic Church, and one of the youngest saints to be canonized. She was born to a farming family. Her father died when she was nine, and they had to share a house with another family, the Serenellis. Maria took over household duties while her mother, brothers, and sister worked in the fields.
One afternoon, the Serenellis' twenty-year-old son, made sexual advances to her. When she refused to submit to him, he stabbed her fourteen times. She was taken to the hospital but she died forgiving him. She was beatified in 1947, and canonized in 1950. She is especially venerated in the Congregation of the Passion (Passionists)".
