Hobart is the County Seat for Kiowa County, and this mosaic shows a map of the County, with towns and other points of interested.
The mosaic is designed on marble-like foot-square tiles. The towns, lakes, rivers and mountains are shown on the map. On the south side a tile sign reads: "KIOWA COUNTY - A gift from Citizens of Kiowa County to Future Generations". A section is dedicated to the veterans from Kiowa County who lost their lives fighting in the wars of the past. The is one tile monument to Capt. J.L. Treadwell, a Medal of Honor Recipient.
Surrounding this mosaic is a wrought iron fence with metal silhouettes of the famous scene of raising the flag at Iwo Jima, a Sherman Tank, the U.S.S. Oklahoma, the Flying Fortress and the 105th Artillery.
