CZ: Antonín Dvorák (1841 - 1904), autor 9 symfonií (nejznámejší je 9. symfonie, zvaná Novosvetská) a 10 oper, který díky svému nadání, píli a vytrvalosti dosáhl výrazných umeleckých úspechu nejen v Cechách, ale i v Evrope a zvlášte pak ve Spojených státech, kde se stal v New Yorku reditelem Národní konzervatore (1892–1895). Je jedním z nejvýznamnejších hudebních skladatelu všech dob a svetove nejhranejším ceským skladatelem vubec.
Pomník postaven byl postaven po první svetové válce, v r. 1926, podle návrhu architekta ing. Jaroslava Beránka. Horejší cást pomníku tvorí bronzová busta od sochare Jaroslava Volfa, clena peveckého spolku Smetana. Oba autori se vzdali nároku na honorár. Okolo pomníku byly dríve umísteny ctyri nízké bronzové lucernicky.
ENG: Antonín Dvorák (1841 - 1904), author of 9 symphonies (the best known is the 9th Symphony, called New World Symphony) and 10 operas, which, thanks to their talent, diligence and perseverance, achieved significant artistic achievements not only in the Czech Republic but also in Europe and especially in the United States where he became director of the National Conservatory in New York (1892-1895). He is one of the most important composers of all time and the world's most played Czech composer.
The monument was built after the First World War, in 1926, according to the design of the architect ing. Jaroslav Beránek. The upper part of the monument consists of a bronze bust by sculptor Jaroslav Volf, a member of the Smetana Choir. Both authors waived their claim for royalties. Previously, four low bronze lanterns were placed around the monument.
