Vooral de fietstochten op voormalige spoorwegbeddingen op de Vennbahn en de Ravel zijn zeer geliefd. De Vennbahn-fietsroute is een van de langste routes van Europa en leidt over een vlakke route door Duitsland, België en Luxemburg. Verdere ontspanningsmogelijkheden zijn er te vinden in het knooppuntennetwerk in de Hoge Venen. Het 850 km lange netwerk heeft een aantal sportieve uitdagingen in petto voor de sportieve fietsers.

Wie het nog sportiever wil, kan kiezen voor een racefietstocht langs de hoogtekammen en de prachtige panorama’s van de Eifel-Ardennen. Mountainbikers vinden in de Oostkantons ideale trails en een uitgestippeld netwerk van 480 km. De natuurlandschappen aan de Amel, de Our en de Warche zijn bijzonder geschikt voor MTB-tochten. Voor de planning van fietstochten is er een online routeplanner met een App. Op die manier kunnen tochten heel eenvoudig samengesteld worden en zijn ze onderweg nog offline beschikbaar.

Het totale netwerk is uitstekend uitgebouwd en biedt fietsvriendelijke verblijfsplaatsen, fiets- en E-Bike verhuurstations, fietsshuttles en een hersteldienst. Voor een zorgeloze fietsvakantie zijn er all-in fietsarrangementen.

Le réseau cyclable permet la découverte de tous les types de paysages de cette région de vacance, allant des vallées pittoresques aux immenses forêts, ou des lacs tranquilles aux paysages sauvages des Hautes Fagnes.

L’ingénieux système des points-nœuds invite à planifier de courtes excursions familiales, des randonnées sportives, des sorties douces et des circuits de plusieurs jours. Les pistes cyclables sur d’anciennes lignes de chemin de fer, les RAVeL, remportent un succès croissant, surtout dans les régions où le relief est accidenté comme dans les Cantons de l’Est.

En effet, là où on ne s’attend qu’à montées et descentes difficiles, ils vous font passer sous les collines par des tunnels et vous feront découvrir les vallées depuis des viaducs, et cela loin de toute circulation routière.
