Mercury, also Mercurius, is a god of commerce, profit, travel, trickery, thieves, and a messenger of the gods in Roman mythology. His counterpart and role model in Greek mythology is the god Hermes. As a messenger of the gods, he is depicted with winged boots or a winged helmet, holding a caduceus - a cadeus with two intertwined snakes.
Mercury is the Sun's closest and smallest planet in the Solar System, reaching only 40% larger than Earth's Moon and smaller than Jupiter's Moon Ganymede and Saturn's Titan. Mercury has no month. Its orbit is the closest to the Sun of all planets and only one orbit lasts for 87,969 days.
