Jedna z budov vycházející z urbanistického návrhu Dejvic od Antonína Engela. Za hlavního autora stavby je považován Josef Záruba-Pfeffermann. Zajímavá stavba s klasicistními prvky a s moderními rysy nastupujícího purismu. Budova byla dokoncena v roce 1929, kdy ji pro své úcely zacaly užívat státní výzkumné ústavy.
V soucasné dobe zde sídlí Ústav organické chemie a biochemie AV CR.
