The Imperial Hotel is a Late Victorian building being erected in 1889 and has long frontages to Beardy St and Fualkner St. A feature is the elaborate stucco parapet above the extensive double verandah. The parapet has pediments above low arches and is punctuated by large urns, evenly spaced. The verandah has bullnosed iron roof and is supported by single, double and triple arrangements of cast iron columns.
The first hotel on this site was the Court House Hotel established c1870 and replaced by this building in 1889 and known as the Imperial Hotel ever since.
