The Hobart Public Library is housed in the Carnegie Library building constructed in 1912. An addition of similar size is located to the east and connected to the original building by a covered walk-through. An entrance to the library is also available on the north side. On the east entrance, signage indicates Jane Phelan Library. We were unable to determine any details about this section, but apparently it is part of the greater Hobart Public Library.

This is a full-service public library open from 9:00 to 6:00 Monday to Friday and 9:00 - noon on Saturday. The library contains 30,000 books and has access to E-books through the Oklahoma Virtual Library and Overdrive.

The library is connected to the Inter-library system where books not available at this location can be obtained. The library has computers with Internet service, plus Wi-fi, copying and fax service. Adult book discussion groups are schedule during the Winter, and there is a Summer children's reading program.
