Das Max-Planck-Institut für Dynamik komplexer technischer Systeme wurde 1996 gegründet und ist das erste Institut der Max-Planck-Gesellschaft, das sich schwerpunktmäßig mit Fragestellungen aus den Ingenieurwissenschaften beschäftigt.
Das Institut ist in sieben Fachgruppen gegliedert:
- Prozeßsynthese und Prozeßdynamik
- Physikalisch-chemische Prozeßtechnik
- System- und Regelungstheorie
- Physikalisch-chemische Grundlagen der Prozeßtechnik
- Bioprozeßtechnik
- Systembiologie
- Molekulare Netzwerkanalyse
Das Institut betreibt zusammen mit der Universität Magdeburg die International Max Planck Research School Magdeburg for Advanced Methods in Process and Systems Engineering, ein englischsprachiges Doktorandenprogramm.
The Max Planck Institute for Dynamics of Complex Technical Systems was founded in 1996 and is the first institute of the Max Planck Society to focus on questions in the engineering sciences.
The institute is divided into seven departments:
- Process Synthesis and Process Dynamics
- Physical-chemical process engineering
- Systems and control theory
- Physical-chemical basics of process technology
- Bioprocess Engineering
- Systems Biology
- Molecular network analysis
Together with the University of Magdeburg, the Institute operates the International Max Planck Research School Magdeburg for Advanced Methods in Process and Systems Engineering, an English-language doctoral program.
