This building at 33 E. Jackson was once home to Kimball Piano, a company that made pianos and organs from 1857-1992. The coordinates for this waymark are taken from across the street on Wabash at the best point to view this sign.

About the building:

“Now known as the Lewis Center, this structure was built in 1916 and originally housed the W. W. Kimball Company (piano manufacturers) and its 500-seat recital hall on the second and third floors. The building was acquired in 1955 through a gift from Mr. Frank J. Lewis and is the main center for the College of Law. DePaul President: Rev. Comerford J. O'Malley, C.M. Architects: Graham, Burnham & Co.”
