The elk, also known as a Wapiti in Canada, is a graceful and noble animal that roams the forests and alpine meadows. This full grown elk has a large set of antlers which will not shed until the winter solstice arrives. Concerned about the calves that are in the clearing with their mother, the elk is alert for the presence of wolves and stares continually in their direction ready to rise and defend his offsprings should any other animals such bears and wolverine get too close.
