Arthur H. Compton, 1892-1962, was an Nobel Laureate and the recipient of many other prizes and recognitions in the field of physics. He is known for discovering the Compton effect in X-ray scattering, for which he won the Nobel Prize. The house he lived in from the late 1920s until 1945, while on the faculty at the University of Chicago, has been little altered since he lived there.

From what I can tell it remains a private residence.
