The Direcção de Formação is hosted in an old facility which has its roots in a castle which was built here in the medieval ages.

It's a classic barracks, used since the early 19th Century by a cavalary unit (Regiment of Dragoons of Évora, later, Cavalary 5) and, more recently, by the Regiment of Infantry 16, later Reciment of Infantry of Évora.
