The inscription in the historical marker says: "Visible remnant of the Grand-Priest Palace built by the prince Dom Luis, first Grand-Priest of Crato. Renaissance style, probably made by the architect Miguel Arruda between 1530 and 1540.

It's located in the historical center of Crato, a small town which used to be part of the domains of the Malta Knights. Lovely spot to feel the atmosphere of an interesting historical sleepy town in southern Portugal.
