The West Springfield Post Office was built in 1935 during the Great Depression. The cornerstone is inscribed:

The West Springfield Post Office exhibits a standard design produced during the government anti-depression programs. The Colonial Revival style building has a slight projection over the central rounded topped doorway. It is flanked by a pair similar rounded top windows which have fluted pilasters. The cornice is made of limestone and brick and and low parapet surround the flat roof. Above the cornice is the inscription:

The interior has a a relief sculpture of a post rider blowing a horn.
