The Pearsall Dog Park, like most large area dog parks, is divided into two fenced areas. The area on the right side (when facing the entrance gate) is for large dogs, and the area on the left side is for small dogs. Outside the fenced area are picnic tables and some shade trees. There is also an area with five fire hydrants surrounded by white gravel. There are several large signs informing pet owners to pick up their dog's poop, as well as other needful rules by which the visitor and their dog(s) should abide. Inside both the large and small dog park sections are sidewalks that extend from the respective double lock entrance gates into the grounds of each of the off-leash areas.
Level of Enclosure: Completely Enclosed
Description of Enclosure: Both areas for small dogs and large dogs are completely enclosed with heavy duty chain link fencing. Each dog park entrance gate is a double lock unit where the owner enters a small enclosure and closes the first gate, then opens a second gate to allow the dog into the off-leash area. Exiting the off-leash area is the reverse process. Each side of the dog parks have sidewalks that extend into the middle of the respective parks. The small dog side is not a very long sidewalk, but the large dog side has an extended sidewalk that curves into a large arch into the middle of the large dog area. More than half of each side's park area have shade trees along the back half of the "run free" area. Rules admonish owners to keep their children close to them and that the owners are legally responsible for any injuries caused by their dogs to people or to park property. Rules of the park also state owners are required to pick up and bag their dog's poop.
