The library at the University of Louisiana at Monroe is the closest campus building to this mosaic turtle. It is on the west side of Bayou Desiard, just across the street from the library, north of Northeast Drive.
The sculpture depicts seven baby turtles following behind their mom, who is decorated in mosaics of mostly maroon and gold hues, which is the school colors. The mother turtle is about 4' in diameter, sitting on a round concrete base. Warhawk is the mascot of the ULM college, and a Warhawk is depicted in red and white tiles on the front gold panel of mosaics just above the turtle's head. on the back side, spelled out in mosaic pieces are "I (heart) ULM".
