Auntie Mame 20 - Ottawa, Ontario - Artistically Decorated Utility Boxes on Waymarking.com

Auntie Mame 20 is dressed in a long blue tight fitting silk dress that was popular at the beginning of the previous century. A green silk sash goes around her waist while the top of her cold-shoulder dress top is red and black. She is holding wide folds of green silk in both of her hands. Behind her are artistically created gold coloured metal room dividers and intricate golden embossed patterns on the tin wall.

Drew Mandigo created the first seventeen Downtown Rideau Mural Boxes installed in late 2016, from his Auntie Mame Series. Stunning in their originality, Drew’s works feature digital collages of ladies dressed in 1950’s and 60’s fashions, and are inspired by the spirit of the 1958 film of the same name. Several new pieces were released as part of the 2017 mural box expansion project, including one featuring a lady trapped in a glass dome, surrounded by butterflies, and a unique piece dubbed ‘the upside-down lady’.
