Edelman, the father of modern-day public relations, steered the growth of Edelman from a one-room office in Chicago‘s merchandise mart in 1952 to the world’s largest independent public relations firm. He is recognized as a staunch advocate of his profession and for advancing the highest standards and ethical practices in it. A generous and public-spirited man deeply committed to the city of Chicago, he was a member of the boards of Chicago Cares, the Lyric Opera of Chicago and Northwestern University School of Music. His integrity, entrepreneurial passion and creative legacy have inspired generations of public relations professionals at the firm that bears his name and throughout the industry.
