This single pedestal spheriod water tower is one of five which service The Villages, an active retirement community in central Florida. It is adjacent to Turtle Mound executive golf course, southeast of green 1 and east northeast of tee 2.

The entire pedesphere elevated storage tank structure is coated in a cream colored paint. "The Villages Florida" town name is painted in green letters multiple times around the midsection of the tank. Cellular antennas encircle the upper part of the pedestal and are mounted on top of the tank. The bottom quarter of the pedestal flares to a cone shape. A maintenance access door at the northwest side of the base faces a brown, two-rail fence encircling an area with bark mulch ground cover. Landscaping of the immediate area includes mature palm trees, tall shrubbery, and ornamental grasses to camouflage a pair of utility shacks and pumps to the south and west.

From the North Sumter County Utility Dependent District web page:

North Sumter County Utility Dependent District (NSCUDD) services approximately 46,138 residents.

North Sumter Utility (NSU) and Villages Water Conservation Authority (VWCA) services Districts #5, #6, #7 and #8 and a portion of District #9

Visiting the site:
At just 90 feet above sea level, it can be seen from many vantage points throughout multiple neighborhoods in this mainly flat part of the state. Travel by car to the residential streets of Day Lily Run or Gumwood Drive and look north or west respectively and you'll see it immediately behind the houses. Many residents here also travel by golf carts and an extensive system of paths cover the massive development spread across portions of three contiguous counties. Visiting this water tower by golf cart or by foot -- heading southwest from the SeaBreeze Recreation Center along the Beuna Vista Boulevard path -- allows for closest viewing.
