This lady enjoys living in a green environment as is evidenced by her green flowing dress, green shoes, green wig over her black hair, green tiles, the healthy looking ferns growing in the background, and her lime coloured parakeets, one flying around the room and the other walking on the floor. One can also observe a wall mounted work of art with greenish rectangular patterns. The only exception to the rule here is the white evening gloves she is wearing.
Drew Mandigo created the first seventeen Downtown Rideau Mural Boxes installed in late 2016, from his Auntie Mame Series. Stunning in their originality, Drew’s works feature digital collages of ladies dressed in 1950’s and 60’s fashions, and are inspired by the spirit of the 1958 film of the same name. Several new pieces were released as part of the 2017 mural box expansion project, including one featuring a lady trapped in a glass dome, surrounded by butterflies, and a unique piece dubbed ‘the upside-down lady’.
