Rather than a plaque, this stone bench is engraved across the front. The inscription reads:
“In memory of Takanobu Arai, 1955-1980, who loved Chicago and the GSB, from his mother”
I can’t find any information about this individual. I believe GSB may refer to the Graduate School of Business, although the bench is located outside of the Art building.
