Misspelling of the word Guerrilla...for some reason many historical societies misspell this word...dictionary spelling in several (actually 4 different) publications is "Guerrilla"
Marker:
Captain William T,
"Bloody Bill" Anderson
Missouri Guerilla
Confederate States Army
1840-1864
The eastern press of the time, and Hollywood movies give this man a brutal reputation. But historic documents reveal the fact in Missouri the Federals (Union) troops were the most brutal...and put the actual mutilations of bodies in their action reports, but say the acts were performed by Confederates...but local news, and witness reports, report Union troop did most of the ugly stuff.
