Puerto Caldera, is the main freight port in the Pacific side of Costa Rica, located in the Esparza canton of the Puntarenas province.

There are two contiguous operating ports on the site, the regular container port with three berthing areas, operated by the Sociedad Portuaria de Caldera, and the new grain port with a single berthing area, operated by the Sociedad Portuaria Granelera de Caldera and inaugurated in 2015.
Puerto Caldera sometimes receives cruise ships if the Puntaranas cruise pier is not accessible. That's what happened to our cruise ship, the Celebrity Eclipse, on April 1, 2019.
