CZ: Chronogram na podstavci Mariánského sloupu v Lounech : Mater DeI tVae sIs proteCtrIX LVnae - 1673, což je letopocet vztycení tohoto sloupu.

Autorem morového sloupu je nejvýznamnejší rane barokní sochar pusobící v Cechách Jan Jirí Bendl. Sloup se puvodne pravdepodobne nacházel na Pražském predmestí, ale pri morové ráne, která postihla Louny v roce 1714, stál již na námestí. Latinský chronogram zní v prekladu takto: Matko boží, bud ochránkyní svých Loun. Sochu pozlatil v roce 1829 hrncír Mikuláš Rudl. Na Mariánském sloupu se nachází socha Panny Marie, znázornenou jako prostovlasou dívku s rukama na prsou, stojící na hadovi jako symbolu hríchu.

The author of the plague column is the most important early Baroque sculptor working in Bohemia Jan Jirí Bendl. The column was probably originally located in the Prague suburb, but it was already on the square in the plague that struck Louny in 1714. The Latin chronogram reads: Mother of God, be the protector of your Louny. The statue was gilded in 1829 by potter Mikuláš Rudl. On the Marian Column there is a statue of the Virgin Mary, depicted as a bare-haired girl with her hands on her chest, standing on a snake as a symbol of sin.
