The Watcher was produced by Glen Patterson, age 18, of Tiffany Crescent in Kanata. Construction was made possible by public subscription: March Township Council, Carleton Board of Education and Kanata-Beaverbrook Community Association. The sculpture was presented to William Teron, the founder of the Town of Kanata, who accepted it on behalf of the residents of the Beaverbrook Community in 1971.
