The Red Cross was recognized by the post-independence government of São Tomé e Principe on the 13th January 1976. It provides social support to the population and it's present in both islands: São Tomé and Principe.
In the capital town, São Tomé, the Cruz Vermelha is located in the center, not far from the harbor.
