O Paraíso dos Grelhados (Grill Heaven) is an iconic fish house in São Tomé, capital town of São Tomé and Principe. It's located by the sea, in the atmospheric avenue which runs along the waterside.
It was created more than ten years ago, but was closed. Opened again and once more closed. At the moment it's functional and highly recommended.
It's also known as "O Contentor" - "The Container" as basically it's a adapted ship container (not an unique situation in the town) with a number of tables and sun umbrellas.
The food is simple: fish of the day. Grilled. It's not specially cheap, not for the local standards. The price is shaped for the few tourists and westerner expats: around 10 Euros. But the quality is high, in its simplicity.
Closed on Mondays.
