"The oldest church in Belgium consecrated in 697 and rebuilt in the 9th century, funeral, parish and collegiate church, it was a place of pilgrimage to Saint Ursmer, one of the founders of Lobbes Abbey. Its history is linked to the abbey of Saint-Pierre, which was destroyed in 1794 by French revolutionary troops.

A unique witness of the 9th century, it has a Latin cross-shaped plan with a false transept to the west, and includes :
- the nave and transept, the oldest parts (9th century, Carolingian period)
- the crypt, the porch tower and the choir (11th century, Romanesque period).

The building houses many sarcophagi and funeral slabs. The two most important sepulchral remains are the Merovingian sarcophagi of Saints Ursmer and Ermin. The visit to the Romanesque crypt will allow you, like medieval pilgrims, to pray to Saint Dodon and Saint Renelde, respectively known for relieving back pain and skin diseases."
