The Bryan McClain Park disc golf course is adjacent to but behind the Longs Creek Elementary School. To get to the first Tee of the disc golf course, you have to turn East from O'Conner Road onto Knollcreek Drive. Go until almost past the school grounds, but turn right into the last entrance driveway into the school property (before you get into the residential houses). This is a One Way path that takes you past the pick up/drop off location for the school, but keep going all the way around the parking lot area until you get to the back corner of the other side of the lot. On your right is the entrance into Bryan McClain Park disc golf course. I know! It seems weird to drive through school property to get to a public park, but that is how it is done. The parking area close to the entrance to McClain Park can be used for people going to this park.

This disc golf course and the park in general was dedicated to the memory of Bryan McClain. He was a graduate of the nearby Madison High School and went on to attend Texas A&M University as a member of the Texas A&M Corps of Cadets. During his sophomore year, he was working on building the bonfire that was traditionally lit before the A&M vs Texas football game. Unfortunately, the log stacks of the bonfire fell over while being built and Bryan McClain was one of the twelve students who were killed in the collapse of the bonfire logs. There is a memorial plaque on a short stone monument dedicating the park to Bryan. The monument is between the entrance gate and the first tee of the disc golf course.

The disc golf course is heavily wooded and has several potential water hazards throughout the 18 holes. The first tee is an elevated concrete slab next to the sidewalk that connects the parking lot to the park pavilion near the first tee. The first throw is a downhill shot into a narrow lane lined by trees. There is a large display board at the entrance that shows the layout of the disc golf course. There are also markers near the baskets that help guide you toward the next tee pad. Some of the holes cross the creek that meanders through the park's property. There is also a high voltage power line right of way that cuts through the disc golf course, so a few times you are crossing this clearing to get to the next tee

There are signs all along the pathways as you play the course warning you that this is a natural area for snakes and other animals, so beware when you venture off into the undergrowth looking for your golf disc.
