This tourist attraction is a small train (~5 metres in length) near the main village on the island of Don Khon in the 4,000 Island region of southern Laos. The 4,000 Islands is a quiet, tourist destination. The train sits on a set of train tracks undercover. Entry is free and unrestricted. Around the train are information stands. The train shows signs of rust but looks sturdy.

This train system dates back to the late 19th Century when the French were increasing their influence in the region. Trains, gunboats, troops, and explorers were traversing this area looking for trade, commerce, political advantage, and so forth. This particular train was purchased in 1929. It saw little use as the train system was circumvented by a road system.

The official Laos tourism site mentions the train in its list of historical sites in this region.
