The Baroque Main Guard Fountain was commissioned by Grand Master Emmanuel de Rohan-Polduc (1775–1797). It is one of a pair of identical fountains set at each end of the Main Guard building.
The Baroque Main Guard Fountain is a complex, stone, two-story high, ornate, rectangular fountain. A gargoyle-like figure spouts water into a two foot high semi-oval basin. An eagle with spread wings is perched on the head of the gargoyle. Water spouts from the beak of the eagle, in a parabolic arc, into the basin below. Above the eagle is a carved curtain.
The upper part of the fountain contains an iron railing below the coat of arms of Grand Master Emmanuel de Rohan-Polduc
