The Cullerlie Stone Circle, marked on some maps as the Standing Stones of Echt, are situated just outside the western boundary of the city of Aberdeen in a rural area between the towns of Peterculter and Westhill.
The eight stones of red granite are placed at equal settings at a diameter of 33 feet around a further eight circular cairns thought to have been used for cremation purposes.
The site is now in the care of Historic Scotland and lies on the east side of a minor road that runs north-westwards from the A93 road at Peterculter to the B9125 at the hamlet of Garlogie. A roadside lay-by lies next to the entrance, and the stones are around a hundred yards away to the east across grassland. A stone tablet nearby shows a diagram of the layout of the circle.
