The Salt Plains National Wildlife Refuge is located in Alfalfa County in northern Oklahoma, north of the small town of Jet, along Great Salt Plains Lake. This location can be reached from the north (from Highway 11) or from the east (from Highway 38). The refuge headquarters and visitors center is just to the east.
