He is dressed in uniform, consisting of a helmet, a hip-length jacket with artillery belt, and puttees. The sculpture is mounted on a block base with a curved cap and a two-tiered bottom. The sculpture is flanked on each side by two black marble commemorative tablets containing the names of Jacksonville residents killed in action during World War I, World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War. The tablets are mounted on stepped white marble bases with columns at each end. The sculpture and tablets are sited on a triangular-shaped concrete plaza."
