This memorial is dedicated to WW I Veterans from Hart County who lost their lives in the great war. A row of oaks was originally planted in 1922 to acompany it. It is interesting to note that the "colored" soldiers were segragated from the others, even in honoring their making the supreme sacrifice for our nation.
