Am Rathaus der im Jahr 2011 aus den ehemaligen Samtgemeinden Wrestedt und Bad Bodenteich neugebildeten Samtgemeinde Aue befindet sich immer noch ein geschnitztes und coloriertes Wappen der von 1997 bis 2011 bestehenden Samtgemeinde Wrestedt.

Since 2011, Wrestedt is the administrative centre of the new administrative unit "Samtgemeinde Aue", which consists of the former "Samtgemeinden" Wrestedt and Bad Bodenteich.
However, the Wrestedt town hall still shows a wooden, carved and colored Coat-of-Arms of the former "Samtgemeinde Wrestedt" existing from 1997 until 2011.

Auf blau-grün-blauem Untergrund befindet sich ein silbernes Schleusentor mit einem springenden roten Einhorn.
Das Schleusentor nimmt Bezug auf die auf dem Gebiet der Samtgemeinde liegende Schleuse "Uelzen 1" am Elbe-Seiten-Kanal, das springende Einhorn ist dem Wappen der Adelsfamile Grote (Grothe) entnommen, die seit 1667 große Ländereien in der Gegend besitzt.

On a blue-green-blue background is a silver floodgate ("Schleusentor") with a red jumping unicorn.
The floodgate refers to the lock "Uelzen 1" at the Elbe lateral canal, the jumping unicorn comes from the coat-of-arms of the noble family Grote, owning large estates in the area since 1667.
