The polished grey granite Broken Column memorial has a broken cylindrical column on two polished granite cube base blocks on faced granite slabs. At the bottom of Louis' inscription is a faint musical score with the lyrics of an unfamiliar song, which are included in the following transcription:

In Ever Loving Remembrance
of
HENRY THOMAS GEHDE
The Loving and Dearly Loved
Husband of FAY GEHDE
Died April 26th 1922
Love couldst only tell thee how
Dear oh loved thou art
________________

FAY GEHDE Wife of the above Died June 21st 1959.

An Ancestory.com search shows that Henry Thomas Gehde, son of August Gehde, married Fanny Edgeworth, in 14th April 1904, in New South Wales. Henry Gehde, so he would have only been married 18 years at the time of his death.
