Principales étapes de construction
L'église Saint-Martin-Saint-Magne est construite au XIIIe siècle.
Elle fait l'objet de grands travaux au XVIIe siècle.
En 1643, un passage derrière le chœur est créé, du crépi est apposé sur les murs, de nouvelles portes sont percées. Des chapelles sont détruites tandis que d'autres sont construites ou déplacées, ce qui donne en fin de compte cinq chapelles autour du déambulatoire - dont une a disparu depuis. Il s'agissait de la chapelle des marquis de Nangis - ornée des fresques des marquis de Nangis du XVIIe siècle - démolie vers 1860.

Histoire et dates importantes
Le village de Nangis se développe au XIIIe siècle sous l'impulsion des marquis de Nangis appartenant à la famille Britaud - laquelle édifie l'église dédiée à saint Martin et à saint Magne en face de son château à la même époque.

La cloche de l'église, Marie-Marguerite, est bénite le 13 juillet 1707 puis détruite pendant la Révolution. L'église est fermée dans la foulée et fait office de lieu de réunion pour les groupes politiques, même si le curé de la paroisse, M. Leseurre de Chante-merle continue d’exercer le culte catholique.

L’actuelle cloche, Louise-Gabrielle-Lydie, est quant à elle bénite le 25 août 1763.

Enfin, l'église est le lieu où ont été inhumés les marquis de Nangis.

Main stages of construction
The church Saint-Martin-Saint-Magne is built in the thirteenth century.
It is the subject of great work in the seventeenth century.
In 1643, a passage behind the choir is created, plaster is affixed to the walls, new doors are drilled. Chapels are destroyed while others are built or moved, which ultimately gives five chapels around the ambulatory - one of which has since disappeared. It was the chapel of the Marquis de Nangis - decorated with frescoes of the Marquis de Nangis of the seventeenth century - demolished around 1860.

History and important dates
The village of Nangis develops in the thirteenth century under the leadership of the Marquis de Nangis belonging to the Britaud family - which builds the church dedicated to Saint Martin and Saint Magne in front of his castle at the same time.
