Karel (II.), hrabe z Liechtensteinu
1664–1695

Proto venoval nesmírné úsilí rekatolizaci zeme, a to všestrannou pastorací a snahou po povznesení církevní disciplíny, zrizováním nových farností, obnovou kostelu a uvádením nových rádu do zeme.

Mimoto dal úplne novou tvárnost biskupské rezidenci olomoucké a kromerížské.

Charles (II.), Earl of Liechtenstein
1664–1695

He was born in Klodzko on April 8, 1624 as the son of the Imperial General Philip Rudolf, Earl of Liechtenstein, the free lord of Castelcorno.

He studied in Ingolstadt where he earned a doctorate in law. In 1637 he was a canon of Salzburg, in 1641 a canon of Olomouc and in 1653 in Passau. He was elected bishop of Olomouc on 12 March 1664.

The diocese was in deep decline as a result of the Swedish occupation. That is why he devoted enormous efforts to the recatholization of the country through all-round pastoral work and the pursuit of upliftment of ecclesiastical discipline, the establishment of new parishes, the restoration of churches and the introduction of new orders into the country. In order to exalt the church worship in the cathedral, he donated 42,000 gold for the canons to watch, 20,000 for the vicars and 20,000 for the exaltation of the church singing.

Moreover, he gave a completely new appearance to the bishop's residence in Olomouc and Kromeríž. In 1686 he founded the chateau garden in Kromeríž, which he devoted to the maintenance of 10,000 gold coins. Its rich chateau library and large picture gallery are his work.

He died on September 23, 1695 and left a reputation as one of the greatest patrons among the Olomouc bishops.
